Prayer of madness

I pray,

and I pray:

Let me drink deeply from this cup

and not find it empty.

Let me look upon this madness:

Upon your face,

in the naked light,

with mine naked eyes;

Let me bask!

In my nakedness;

Let me revel!

In futility;

Let me rejoice!

In sorrow.

Keep me insane,

for sanity,

is the true madness,

of this world.
